Aitkin County Health & Human Services Advisory Committee
Overview
The Aitkin County Health & Human Services Advisory Committee has been in existence since December 1998. The purpose of this advisory committee is to discuss issues relevant to Health & Human Services, act as a liaison between taxpayers and county commissioners, and make recommendations to the commissioners based on input from committee members. This is related to Health & Human Services issues only and does not include other county departments.

Mission
To actively participate in the formulation and ongoing review of the plan for the development, implementation, and operation of the programs and services of the Health & Human Services Board in its mission to assist citizens, preserve families and promote dignity, safety, health, responsibility, and self-sufficiency.

Membership
Each district is represented on the Advisory Committee and the Committee currently consists of 18 members. Two committee members are county commissioners and the remaining 16 are Aitkin County citizens and are appointed by the Board of Commissioners.
The Commissioners serving are J. Mark Wedel, District 1 and Travis Leiviska, District 3.
